Chapter One:
This morning Hailey’s stress had hit its limit. She was getting ready to go to Central Innovation Industries (CII), her boyfriend, Uncle’s company. It was an inventive, innovative business (hence the name Central Innovation Industries) to work for. They produced electric vehicles and all sorts of other cool gadgets. Anyway, she was getting ready for work and just as she poured the creamer into her coffee and picked it up, she spilled it down the front of her cute tan jumper. She then had to change her entire outfit, find new heels to match, etc. So that took another twenty minutes. Then onward towards the car, a cute baby blue electric vehicle, similar to a VW Beatle but more the size of an SUV and a smoother more aero-dynamic design. As she reaches the vehicle, she sets her briefcase in the backseat but low and behold, she had thrown her keys in the back and, God knows how, she locks herself out of her CII Compact Traveler. Coles Uncle, Marvin Stratton, gave her the car. One of the perks of dating someone whose uncle owns a prosperous and innovative electric car/tech company.
Still having her phone Hailey calls Triple AAA and a whopping forty-five minutes later a local tow truck shows up. The big, burly man with a beard and blue shirt, navy pants and a deep voice, hops out of the tow truck. He jimmies the lock in thirty seconds (of course it could have happened forty-five minutes ago; but here she is now). Finally, Hailey is on her way to work with her new outfit, a tan pencil skirt with brown bootie heels and a white silk top tucked into her skirt. Her curly strawberry blonde hair blows in the wind as she rolls down the window, to feel the breeze of this spring day.
It's the best weather, with clear blue and sunny skies. She slips her pink pastel cat eye sunglasses over her crystal-clear blue eyes and turns the radio on to her favorite station, Starz 92.7 fm. Suddenly the day starts to shift. I mean it’s not like she’s going to get fired or anything. Her boyfriend's uncle, Marvin Stratton, owns the whole freaking Central Innovation Industries (CII) company. She has been given a loose schedule but likes to keep to the 9am-6pm shift. Haileys interest in the company isn’t solely based on the money. It stretches from spending time with her boyfriend, Cole, to the dynamic of designing new products but mostly for fun. Hailey is a communication and design genius which actually qualifies her for the job despite the fact that she could have any position she wanted in this company.
It's amazing. Taking a.p. courses in high school, acing exams; receiving college credits and double upon English and science to then graduate at the young age of sixteen years old.
